Bluegrass for Hospice Music Festival Featured Some Great Entertainers

On Saturday October 24, there was a Bluegrass music show to raise funds for the first ever Hospice House in St. Mary's County. Presented and coordinated by Jay Armsworthy, the "Bluegrass for Hospice" was held at the Flat Iron Farm on Flat Iron Road in Great Mills.

St. Mary's County Sheriffs are investigating a head on collision involving two vehicles in the area just south of Wickshire Drive in Hermanville that has left one man dead.

Official Press Release: Missing Teen Found Deceased

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE: On Oct. 27 at approximately 5:24 a.m. St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office patrol units responded to a Mechanicsville residence for the report of a missing 17 year old juvenile who was believed to be armed with several weapons.

Wounded Warriors Get a Boost From Comedy Show

On Oct. 24, BPOElks #2092 held another fundraising effort for the Wounded Warrior Project in California. Not only was there a whole day of fun, but later that evening a Comedy Show provided some great laughs for a great cause.

Two-Car Accident in Lexington Park

At approximately 4:41 p.m. on Oct. 19, with traffic backed up all the way into Lexington Park because of an earlier accident on the Thomas Johnson Bridge, emergency units from Bay District and Lexington Park responded to a two-car accident at 22500 Three Notch Road.

Royal Lipizzans Enthrall Audience

TheBAYNET.com was at Flat Iron Farm for the final show of the Royal Lipizzans on Oct. 18. The indoor event displayed some of the finest horses any where on Earth during the 90 minutes show. The event thrilled the audience with the elegant style and grace of these magnificent animals.

Despite the Weather, Sheriff's Open House Enjoyable by All

On Saturday, Oct. 17, despite dreary cold rainy weather, the St. Mary's Sheriff's Office and the Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police held a joint open house from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The demonstrations and displays allowed citizens to learn about the many facets of law enforcement.

Despite dreary skies and a chilly outside temperature, the atmosphere at Lexington Park Library was warm and cozy and the many attendees enjoyed free refreshments while learning what to do in emergencies.
