For those that enjoy fine dining, things are about to change on Solomons Island this winter. Executive Chef Robert Hesse, he of Hell's Kitchen fame, is coming to the island to take charge of Catamarans on Dec. 5.

What was originally considered a single vehicle accident on Oct. 31 has now been deemed a hit and run after Calvert authorities concluded its investigation into the accident.

Authorities have recovered the stolen school bus. After an exhaustive and intense search the bus was located south of Buck Hewitt in Lexington Park on the future FDR Right of Way under the power lines. Crime scene investigators are on the scene. The bus was stolen from an area school this morning.

At approximately 1 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1 authorities responded to what can only be classified as a strange incident that occurred on Winding Way in Lord Calvert Trailer Park in Great Mills. Police received multiple calls for pedestrians being struck, numerous fights and vehicles being struck.

St. Mary's Square's first Free Fall Festival in Lexington Park was a smashing good time. Not even a few sprinkles could deter families and tons of "Trick-or-Treaters" from coming out! This event was about bringing the community together, and not just about handing out candy.

On Oct. 27, Philip H. Dorsey III was awarded the St. Mary's County 2009 Preservation Project Award for the restoration and renovation done to historic St. Peters Chapel located at 22835 Washington St. in Leonardtown.
