The high winds and thunderstorms that swept through Southern Maryland on Sunday left thousands of homes with out power this morning, and is causing havoc for schools and roads.

There were no injuries reported, but the occupants of the home were put out by the blaze. The American Red Cross Southern Maryland chapter responded to the scene.

1,000 Drivers Pass Through DWI Checkpoint, Four Arrested

During the sobriety checkpoint, four persons were arrested for DUI. More than 1,000 drivers passed through the "Cinco de Mayo" checkpoint on Plum Point Road, with four drivers arrested during the operation.
