The high winds and thunderstorms that swept through Southern Maryland on Sunday left thousands of homes with out power this morning, and is causing havoc for schools and roads.

There were no injuries reported, but the occupants of the home were put out by the blaze. The American Red Cross Southern Maryland chapter responded to the scene.
After three days of charitable events, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Maryland raised over $60,000 for local children and families. The agency exists to help youth reach their potential by providing supported mentor relationships.
