Tony O'Donnell vs. Steny Hoyer
Maryland Congressional candidate Tony O’Donnell today called upon incumbent Congressman Steny Hoyer to end his globetrotting fundraising jaunts and talk about the issues of concern to families in Southern Maryland, Anne Arundel and Prince George’s counties.
“Hoyer has gone Hollywood on us,” said O’Donnell, “and I don’t mean Hollywood, Maryland. He leads a life style out of the “Rich and Famous” with a chauffeur driving him to work every day and jetting away to Puerto Rico with over a hundred well heeled friends for fun and frolic. Meantime, hard working families are sweating how to pay the bills”
O’Donnell said Hoyer’s tin ear on the economic situation that real people face every day is proof that Hoyer’s 31 years in Congress have turned him into an “out of touch elitist.” “He can have his Hollywood life style,” said O’Donnell. “I am proud to stand with the good people of Hollywood, Maryland. They have the common sense to know that the spending spree that Hoyer has lead in Congress is endangering the economic security of their family.”
O’Donnell noted that his fundraising has come primarily from house parties hosted by real people who live and work in Prince George’s County, Anne Arundel County and Southern Maryland. He contrasted that with Hoyer who has raised 69% of his money in the last eighteen months from outside of Maryland.
