Re: Protecting Marriage in Maryland 10/31/2009 11:24 AM EST { In reply to sw44 } If you don't like gay marriage, don't marry someone of the same sex.

Re: Re: Protecting Marriage in Maryland 10/31/2009 12:07 PM EST { In reply to GrainOfSalt } Our society will turn into jerry springer. Next people will want marry three people and animals. (really) Next they will focus on the children in grade school. Like Kevin Jennings "The Queering of education" But I get thats not a problem for you.

Re: Re: Re: Protecting Marriage in Maryland 11/1/2009 9:24 AM EST { In reply to sw44 } Get a grip! People like you who say this kind of stuff only make me laugh. No one is trying to marry an animal or kid so please, stop with the ridiculous assumptions. People just want to be happy and to be able to get married. Gay marriage isnt going to affect anyone else but the ones getting married, that has been proven in other countries along withe the states that allow it now. Live and let live, who are we to judge someone elses life.

Re: Re: Re: Protecting Marriage in Maryland 11/1/2009 12:22 PM EST { In reply to sw44 } I think you are taking this a little too far. I'm a Republican and a Christian but I am not about to tell people who they can marry. Who are you to judge who another person loves and wants to be with? It is not your place to judge. And have you forgotten that God is a forgiving God? Only He can judge man for what they do during their time on earth. Let he among you without sin be the first to condemn. Get out of here with this prejudicial bull $h!t.

Re: Protecting Marriage in Maryland 11/1/2009 12:36 PM EST { In reply to sw44 } If we allow gays to marry each other they will stop marrying straight people

Re: Re: Re: Protecting Marriage in Maryland 11/1/2009 3:45 PM EST { In reply to sw44 } You are obviously homophobic, and fear that the gays are out to convert and recruit new members like its a religion or a cult. I just don't see how the pursuit of happiness of gay people has any effect whatsoever on my own pursuit of happiness, or the pursuit of happiness of any heterosexuals. Neither do I see how "marriage" is threatened by them and needs your protection. Almost 50% of heterosexual marriages end in divorce. I sincerely wish gay people better luck with it. Because of their propensity for intolerance, I find the Christian right to be much more of a threat to the American way of life than gay people.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Protecting Marriage in Maryland 11/1/2009 5:08 PM EST { In reply to GrainOfSalt } I was with you until your comment about the Christian right. I don't find the Christian right or gay people as a threat to America. I find both groups to be productive members of society. If you want to say Christian/Republican extremists, then okay. But not everyone on the Christian right is a threat to American society. I would say more threatening to society are people who are too worried about political correctness. People who are offended by my decision to celebrate a holiday or my choice to wear a cross should get out. Last I checked, this country was founded on the basis of a freedom of religion and a freedom of speech. If you're offended, grow a thicker skin.

Re: Re: Re: Protecting Marriage in Maryland 11/1/2009 5:44 PM EST { In reply to sw44 } It's prejudice, and it's ignorance, on a level that is staggering at this point in time. But, maybe I'm wrong. Maybe there's a group of gay bandidos. They travel from village to dell. And as night falls, they travel to that cul-de-sac, where only one house stands. And in the window, you see a family, just setting down to their evening meal. And these queers... these queers... don their black hoods, and matching pumps, very tasteful. Sneak up to the house ever so slightly, open the door, and start... F****** EACH OTHER IN THE A**! AND ANOTHER AMERICAN FAMILY... IS DESTROYED! -Lewis Black

11/1/2009 10:29 PM EST { In reply to kmartini } Agreed. I love the phrase: Protecting our sacred "institution" of marriage. What in the world do you need to protect when the divorce rate is so high? When our "fathers" raped and pillaged this land, didn't they force Christianity on the natives? That is what my history book said. Yikes, I'd be afraid of some of that kind of mess before I worried about homosexuals taking over the world. Oh, no and what would be next?!?!? People marrying Barbie Dolls!?!?!?! People are people. There are far worse things out there than two people who love each other getting married.

Re: Protecting Marriage in Maryland 11/2/2009 9:47 PM EST { In reply to sw44 } Kevin Jennings did write in the book "The Queering of education" and that does not bother you? Does Gay lifestyle education for children bother you?
