Re: Hancock 8/17/2008 10:46 PM EST { In reply to djgross88 } I caught Hancock a little while ago. It's probably the only summer movie that felt a bit like a letdown, at least to me. Hancock draws very heavily on some of the most emotional elements of Iron Man (the comics, not the feature film), but rather then expanding on them and making them agonizing for the character, it was trivialized. He was an alcoholic, but a funny "Will Smith" alcoholic. The special effects were pretty terrific, I must say. But unfortunately, the storyline went from hopeful to downright muddy. The flick just had too many twists that didn't really make much sense. A few of the reveals, in fact, didn't even get appropriate screentime for characters to properly react to them. Basically, it's a renter. I wouldn't see it at the theater again, and I have no desire to catch it on DVD.
