Websters Dictionary defines cabaret as 'live entertainment in a nite club', but it is so much more. I am Clare O'Shea and I want to share something with you about my new show, "PASSIONATE BROADWAY".

I have always loved to sing those sweepingly beautiful, passionate Broadway Hits. From 3 years old to today, I sang 'em from Julie Andrews to Barbra Streisand to Linda Eder. I wouldn't consider myself an expert on Broadway music. I just seem to fall in love with a composer or a singer and get crazy involved with them. Since I moved from Manhattan, and live in Calvert County now, I have had the great privilege of having the Twin Beach Players and Janine Naus, the President and my producer, graciously support my passion with performing, now that David, my husband, is center stage in my life and the Broadway stage is far away.

Actually, when I thought about doing this show, my first working title of it was "Way Off-Broadway" which made me laugh and morphed into "Wayyyyy Wayyyyy Off Broadway", a comical reference to me singing up my heels in Southern Maryland. Then it became "A Passion For Broadway" and then finally "PASSIONATE BROADWAY", which I love, cause I am. I am passionate about all the songs you'll hear in this show, and passionate about having an intimate, musical theater/nite club cabaret experience with all my Calvert friends. Cause thats what we are doing. The Rev. Gregory Gaertner and the Congregation of Saint Nicholas Lutheran Church have invited us and seem really happy to be having us in their beautiful church on Plum Point Road (across from Plum Point Elementary and Middle Schools), which is perfect for cabaret, and we are tickled to life to bring some great Broadway dynamic to this area. Rev. Gaertner remarked how delighted they were about their previous cabaret performances they hosted. Also my gratitude goes out to The Arts Council of Calvert County for providing Twin Beach Players a special grant for this production and our sponsors such as The Help Association. Oh, I recently flew to LA to work with my dear friend and musical director, Andy Howe. I know you will adore his music in the show and how it holds me up and surrounds us all with such powerful beauty. Cabaret is a magical, intimate, theatrical, musical experience when it is done right and I am doing my doggone best to make that happen for us all. I'll be ready for you this Fall. Look for our ads and around town flyers. And COME TO THE CABARET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! COME TO PASSIONATE BROADWAY!!!!! Clare O'Shea, a cabaret chanteuse, enchants her audiences with original stories of human drama. Lifes loves, joys and sorrows are polished with sparkling wit and hilarious comedy. Clare's show will offer intensity! Commitment! Glamour! Great music! Variety! Up and down, mood! Laughs and tears! It will make you think and make you feel! And most importantly, it will fill you up and leave you with HOPE!!! Clare will perform an array of songs by the brightest and best composers and lyricists whose music was made famous in several original Broadway productions as well as perform the work of verdant-voiced concert performer Linda Eder and modern-day musical genius and husband Frank Wildhorn. Join us for a truly special evening with all of its secrets, magic, mysteries, lights, and shadows of intimate musical theatre like you would find in New York City but in the cozy and charming Saint Nicholas Lutheran Church.

Show dates: Friday, November 7, 2008 and Saturday, November 8, 2008. All shows start at 8:00 PM. Doors open at 7:30 with light appetizers after the show. Tickets are only $15.00 for adults, $12 for seniors, students and Twin Beach Players members.
