Sheriff Timothy Cameron, along with T-Bone and Heather of the Star 98 FM Radio Morning Show would like to remind everyone that the charity softball game between the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office and Star 98 FM will be held this Saturday, August 15, 2009 at Chancellor’s Run Park in California, Maryland. The softball game is to benefit St. Mary’s County’s “Shop with a Cop.”

Festivities begin at 4:30 p.m. with a “Home Run Derby” where individuals can take a chance to hit a home run and possibly win a Harley Davidson motorcycle.  Numerous door prizes, trophies and a 50/50 raffle will be drawn.  The softball game will begin at 7:00 p.m.  The Optimist of St. Mary’s County will be on hand to sell food and beverages.

“Shop with a Cop” is a 501(c) (3) charitable organization, sponsored by the St. Mary’s Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 7 and the Optimist Clubs of St. Mary’s County, and funded strictly through charitable donations.  Local law enforcement officers take children with economic needs shopping to purchase school supplies and clothing for the coming school year.
