Sterling, VA – The National Weather Service has Issued by the National Weather Service for St. Marys County. Winter storm warning until 12a.m. EST Monday. Winter storm warning in effect until midnight Tonight. Heavy snow. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches are expected for Saint Mary’s County. Plan on snow covered roads and slippery conditions. Travel will be difficult. Temperatures will remain well below freezing tonight, so any untreated surfaces will remain snow covered and slippery.
Precautionary/preparedness actions. A winter storm warning for snow means severe winter weather conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
