Santa was a big hit at the annual Hospice of St. Mary’s Festival of Trees

California, MD — What has become a St. Mary’s County holiday tradition, the Hospice of St. Mary’s Festival of Trees, lit up the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center on Saturday. Halls were filled 25 trees and a number of wreaths with guests getting a chance to vote on their favorites.

Vendors with holiday gift giving ideas filled the main hall. Meanwhile, parents, with their kids in tow, gathered in another room with a chance to visit with Santa and take part in games.

Throughout the day entertainment was provided by Billy Breslin, David Norris, the Flute Choir, David and Mary Flood, Southern Maryland Gospel Choir and Bootscooters.

While the final results for this year aren’t in yet, last year more than 1,000 visitors attended the festival, raising more than $25,000 for Hospice.
