St. Charles High School investigates bomb threat

Waldorf, MD- Parents of students at St. Charles High School in Charles County receive a message from the school's principal on Tuesday, Nov. 14 alerting them to a potential threat at the school.

Principal Richard Conley told parents there was an incident earlier in the day at the school. Two students reported to a teacher that a third student approached them in the hallway and told them he was upset with his grades. He told the students to stay away from the school on Thursday because he was going to "blow up the school."

The students gave a vague description of the student who allegedly made the threat and said he was a tall, white male wearing a hoodie.

Conley said, "We do not believe this threat is credible but we are taking it seriously." He said the school reviewed camera footage in the area where the conversation occurred but haven't been able to identify the student who allegedly made the threat.

Conley said the school's resource officer was notified and will continue to work to identify the student

Conley asked all parents to talk with their children to see if they know anything about the threat. If they do have any information, parents are asked to all their child’s administrator tomorrow morning to share any information that could assist with the investigation.
