Are we there yet? Best times to travel this Thanksgiving

Hollywood, MD- If you’re traveling this Thanksgiving make sure you pack your patience—or just try to avoid peak travel times for a smoother trip.

Based on travel conditions from last year, Google has determine the worst times to travel this Thanksgiving.

For Washington, DC, traffic will be the worst on Wednesday, Nov. 22 at 3 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 25 at 4 p.m.

If you’re hoping to avoid some of that congestion, Google recommends leaving at 6 a.m. Thanksgiving Day.

You can also avoid some traffic by traveling on less congested roads. In Maryland, you might want to consider using US-301 compared to the Beltway and the BW Parkway over I-95.

As in years past, transportation officials in Maryland are lifting construction-related lane closures during the holiday to ease up on traffic delays.
