Matt Morgan fights for transportation

Lexington Park, MD - The Incumbent Republican State Delegate of District 29A Matt Morgan is seeking re-election in the 2018 General Election. Morgan has fought hard throughout his term to bring stronger transportation infrastructure funds to Southern Maryland. While Morgan acknowledges that there is always more funds to be had for infrastructure, he has applauded the work that has been funded so far.

Major projects that Morgan has noted as successful include putting a roundabout at the intersection of Budds Creek Road/Colton Point Road in Clements, as well as repaving most state roads in northern St. Mary’s County. Additionally, Morgan mentioned the completion of a bridge replacement on Route 234 and a road expansion through Leonardtown as successful.

Morgan has also mentioned how successful the local delegation has been in securing funds for regional projects. The best example of this can be found in the plan to replace the Harry W. Nice Memorial Bridge on Route 301 by 2023.

Lastly, Morgan has discussed how he and Delegate Deb Rey [R-29B] have fought to repeal taxes on gas that were put in place by the previous Democratic governor, Martin O’Malley. While they have seen little progress, Morgan feels strongly that there is little to no reason to continuously raise those taxes.

Recently, Morgan visited the offices and studio of TheBayNet.com to talk about his re-election campaign. His plan to fight for more transportation funding and lower taxes in Southern Maryland is discussed in the video.
