WALDORF, Md. – At approximately 2:00 p.m., firefighters responded to the structure fire at 10265 Wimbledon Place in Waldorf.
Crews arrived to the scene and found the townhouse engulfed in flames with extension. A second alarm was requested but canceled a short time later.
52-year-old male firefighter suffered heat exhaustion and was transported to UM Charles Regional Medical Center. Three adults have been displaced from the fire, the American Red Cross has been notified.
Crews reported the fire started outside under the back deck and spread inside that unit. The Office of the State Fire Marshal has been notified and request to the scene to continue investigating.
Use caution in the area, and stay alert for emergency vehicles.
