Hollywood man arrested for DUI and gun possession


(Baltimore, MD)- On Saturday, Sept. 8, 2017, the Maryland Transportation Authority(MDTA) Police arrested a Hollywood, MD, resident for DUI and for being in possession of a loaded handgun.

A MDTA Police officer stopped 30-year-old Terrill Xavier Butler on southbound US 301 at the Gov. Harry W. NIce Bridge toll plaza in Charles COunty for unlawfully backing his 2015 Chevrolet Sonic out of the toll lane. During the roadside interview, Butler admitted that a loaded handgun was in the vehicle. Butler was not successful in performing the standardized field sobriety tests and was taken into custody without incident. 

The MDTA Police charged Butler with wearing and transporting a firearm, DUI, failing to obey a traffic control device, backing a motor vehicle on a controlled access highway, and negligent driving.

After processing, Butler was transported to the Charles COunty Detention Center where he was released on his own recognizance.
