Heavy hitters holds fundraiser for Laila

Sunday was a great day for Skins fans but also for those who got to enjoy the warmth of giving back to our community and one special girl.

Many of you remember the shock of hearing about 3 children burned on July 4th in a boat flash fire. Laila was hurt the worst but is recovering wonderfully.

So bringing some people together to help raise some money for the family, to help with medical bills or so they could take the kids out to Rita’s, was only natural.

HYDRAFX, DJ Rob and Outside the Wire cranked up the tunes while Heavy Hitters was donating 20% of sales back to the cause.

Foundation 4 Heroes brought their heroes to entertain the kids and sold some merchandise that supports their mission. They then donated a cool $100 to help the Laila and her family.

Doing her amazing face painting was Kat Hoodrich of Face Painting by Kat. She is always a crowd pleaser for both kids, and adults. The food being Barbequed outside was cooked by James and Gail Merlin and was excellent.

Many folks donated silent auction items. Too many to mention, but a perfect testament of how we can come together as a community in times of need.

Thank you so much for supporting all of the fundraisers for the kids. Sadly another three little girls were injured in a similar accident. Be on the lookout for ways you can help them in the future. Foundation 4 Heroes has already sent out an offer to be there. Hope to see you too.
