Sheriff's office remembers K-9 Barry

LEONARDTOWN, Md. - Retired K-9 Barry, who faithfully served the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office for over four years, died peacefully of natural causes, at the age of 15 on August 5, 2018.

K-9 Barry retired in July of 2011, and remained with his handler Corporal Elizabeth O'Connor until his death.  "K-9 Barry was a wonderful dog and the best friend I could have ever asked for," said Cpl. O'Connor.  K-9 Barry was a cross trained Belgian Malinois, (Patrol/Narcotics Detection), who loved the water, and traveled yearly to the Outer Banks with Cpl. O'Connor and her family.  K-9 Barry is fondly remembered and will be missed by all at the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office. (K-9 Barry Photo collage by Rose Borisow Grafx)
