During the week of July 1 – 7 deputies of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1,448 calls for service throughout the community.

Damaged Property: 19-37594
On July 1, 2019 Deputy R. Shrawder responded to Creston Lane, Solomons for the report of damaged property. The complainant advised sometime between 7:30 PM and 8:00 PM an unknown suspect(s) shattered the rear passenger side window of his vehicle. The estimated value of damaged property is $500.

Damaged Property: 19-37595
On July 1, 2019 Deputy Boerum responded to Lower Marlboro Road, Huntingtown for the report of damaged property. The complainant advised sometime between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM an unknown suspect(s) drove their vehicle into her yard, struck her mailbox and drove away, leaving the mailbox destroyed.

On July 2, 2019 Deputy Flynt responded to Simmons Ridge Road, Prince Frederick for the report of damaged property. The complainant advised sometime between early morning and noon an unknown suspect(s) struck her mailbox and left it pushed over with damage on the pole that supports it. The value of damaged property is approximately $40.

Tampering: 19-38736
On July 7, 2019 Deputy R. Shrawder responded to Senora Lane, Lusby for the report of a theft from a vehicle. The complainant advised an unknown male was inside of his vehicle until he yelled at him and chased him away. No property was stolen from the vehicle.

Theft: 19-37572
On July 1, 2019 Deputy Anderson responded to Clay Hammond Road, Prince Frederick for the report of a theft. The complainant advised an unknown suspect(s) stole several tools from his shed including a backpack leaf blower, an impact drill, a tool bag, batteries and a battery charger. The total value of stolen property is approximately $930.

Theft: 19-37935
On July 3, 2019 Deputy Hardesty responded to Highview Circle, Lusby for the report of a theft. The complainant advised sometime between July 1st and July 3rd her handicap placard went missing from her vehicle. It is unknown whether the placard was lost or stolen.

ARRESTS:
On July 6, 2019 Deputy Freeland conducted a traffic stop in the area of Lake Lariat in Lusby. The driver, Dennis Shay Gary Jr. (25), advised Deputy Freeland he had two firearms in the vehicle but did not have permits to carry them. Gary and his passenger were removed from the vehicle and detained. A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun, a loaded .38 caliber revolver, ammunition and a homemade firework. Gary was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with Concealing a Dangerous Weapon.
