Center of Amber Alert suspected of stabbing kids' mom


Gaithersburg, MD- July 10th's  Amber Alert ended safely when the man who was at the center of it dropped his two children off, one at a daycare, and one with a family member. The man stopped at a firehouse in Prince Georges County when he heard the Amber Alert on the radio. 

Now Montgomery County Police are saying that man may have stabbed the children's mother before taking the kids and fleeing the area. According to a press release on the Montgomery County Police Department's website, at approximately 1:06 p.m. July 10, officers responded to the 700 block of West Side Drive in Gaithersburg for the report of a domestic-related stabbing. The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.The suspect, Dwight Perry, who is the victim's boyfriend fled from the area with both children(he is the biological father). 

Montgomery County Police Department-Special Victims Investigations Division is handling the investigation. At this time, Perry is facing charges of first and second-degree assault, but may face more charges pending a review by the States Attorney's Office.
