Brian Benton Brown
On March 12, 2016, the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office received information regarding the possible sexual abuse of a minor. Ultimately, Detectives from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s, Criminal Investigation Division (CID) assumed the investigation.
The investigation revealed over a period of time, Brian Benton Brown, 30 years old of Great Mills, Maryland had a minor perform various sexual acts, often in exchange for items. At the time of the incidents, the minor was a household family member of Brown.
After conferring with the St. Mary’s County State’s Attorney’s Office, the investigation was presented to the Grand Jury for an indictment. Ultimately, an arrest warrant was issued for Brown charging him with the following criminal offense:
Sexual Abuse of a Minor (2 counts)
On May 11, 2016, Brown was located and placed under arrest. He was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center to await a bond hearing.
