Upcoming PTLT iNaturalist Events

Leonardtown, MD – The Patuxent Tidewater Land Trust will host a series of iNaturalist events this spring in St. Mary’s County, beginning with the Earth Day celebration April 14 on the Leonardtown Square.

Fun and educational for the entire family, iNaturalist events allow participants to use a free downloadable app (www.inaturalist.org) on their cell phones to take photographs of plants and animals for identifying and sharing. Participants can record their finds under their own projects and also search for other iNaturalist projects in their area.

Prizes will be awarded at the PTLT event April 14 for the most species recorded and for the rarest recorded species. Come to the PTLT booth to register for this timed bioblitz.

Other PTLT iNaturalist events include:

April 22, 2019 Earth Day/Easter Monday. Allen’s Heirloom Homestead (Park Hall) 12-4 pm and Easter Egg Hunt on the farm for children 3 pm.  Free, but preregister online by sending your email address to SaveLand@PTLT.org and asking  to be on the mailing list for this and other scheduled iNaturalist events by PTLT this year.
