Southern Maryland Film Festival needs your film

LEONARDTOWN, Md. -  Film submissions are currently being accepted for the 2018 Southern Maryland Film Festival, to be held Friday night, July 13 and all day Saturday, July 14, 2018, in Leonardtown, Maryland.  Filmmakers of all ages and all levels of experience are invited to submit their own films to be shown at various locations throughout the town.  Submissions are due by Friday, May 18, 2018; there is no submission fee. Select films will be juried by industry professionals, and prizes will be awarded in several categories.

The Steering Committee for the Southern Maryland Film Festival is partnering with Leonardtown’s Arts & Entertainment District to host the Festival, with financial support from the St. Mary’s County Arts Council and the generosity of local businesses.  The Festival is open to local film makers from - and movies made in - Charles, Calvert and St. Mary’s Counties.  Other film projects from the surrounding area will be considered for honorable mention exhibition screenings, but are not eligible for prizes.  Anyone wishing to submit their film for consideration or to volunteer to help with the festival should go to www.smdff.org.

Businesses in the tri-county area may sponsor the Film Festival by contacting Theresa at smdfilmfest@gmail.com.
