Dr. Lipoff: The REX Raises $1250 to Benefit Nonprofit Foundation 4 Heroes

The REX had an interest in doing something fun for their patrons and the community; all while raising money for a great cause. They did it.

Their first annual Comicon Costume Party was a hit! The party started at 9pm and went deep into the early morning while DJ Papers rocked the house. It was so much fun, that’s how it became an annual event.

The REX has quickly become a popular restaurant and nightspot for folks due to their eclectic food combinations, wonderful dining experience, atmosphere, live music and more.

After learning about Foundation 4 Heroes (F4Heroes) and their mission to visit, inspire and offer hope to children in hospitals, and also speak with school children how they can Be A Hero, The REX wanted to help. Even the staff dressed up in full costume, which is fun for everyone.

How often does a Power Ranger or the female Thor deliver your drink?

A silent auction was also held at The REX thanks to Above Average Graphing, who donated sports memorabilia.

The REX’s donation will go back to F4Heroes and assist them in continuing their commitment to help children. In fact, the Foundation is all volunteers and the only local, superhero, nonprofit organization to travel to inspire and visit children.

One hundred percent of that money goes into their BB&T bank for purchases like Inspiration Bands for kids, games and toys.

Just a month ago, The REX was the site for another successful fundraiser for Gabriel Sanchez, who needs a double lung transplant and he is almost 1 yr old.

Before The REX extravaganza, Big Larry’s Eatery packed the house with kids all eager to meet superheroes. Some parents as well.

Lots of pictures were taken and food consumed during Big Larry’s 5-year Anniversary Sale. Best day of the year. It was wall to wall ice cream and heroes inside.

Also in attendance was the Foundations new recruit, Agent Coulson with his SHIELD vehicle.

Foundation 4 Heroes just had their Inspiration Bands come in. You can purchase them for $3 or 2 for $5 at any upcoming event like April 11th at Deans Lumber from 10 – 2pm, where you can meet Batman, Wonder Woman, Captain America, Cat Woman, Starlord and more. #F4Heroes #MikeBatsonPhoto #charity #childrenshealth #nonprofit #instagood #followme #AAGraphing
