Center for Abused Persons hold 25th Annual Candlelight Vigil

La Plata, Maryland — Center for Abused Persons, in commemoration of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW), April 7-13, 2019, is hosting the Twenty-Fifth Annual Candlelight Vigil to raise awareness about crime victims’ issues and rights and introduce the community to the important resources and services available.

Center for Abused Persons will commemorate the advancement of victims’ rights and highlight issues surrounding victimization by holding the Vigil at the Circuit Court for Charles County on April 8, 2019 at 7 P.M. followed by a candlelight processional walk to Christ Church in La Plata and a reception.

The Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) of the U.S. Department of Justice leads communities throughout the country in their annual observances of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week by promoting victims’ rights and honoring crime victims and those who advocate on their behalf. This year’s theme—Honoring Our Past. Creating Hope for the Future. — celebrates the progress made by those before us as we look to a future of crime victims services that is even more inclusive, accessible, and trauma-informed.

Please join us for a night of honoring victims to bring hope for our future. For additional information about this event, please contact the Center for Abused Persons, at 301-645-8994.
