Drug deal gone bad leaves two with gunshot injuries


UPDATE - On Feb. 9 at 2:24 p.m., officers responded to St. Patrick’s Drive in Waldorf for the report of a shooting.

Officers arrived and located two adult males; one had two gunshot wounds to his leg, and the other was grazed on the leg. The wounded victim was flown to a hospital where he was treated for injuries that were not life threatening. A preliminary investigation showed the victims, who are from St. Mary’s County, drove to the 10300 block of Cassidy Street to make a drug deal. During the deal, the suspect pulled a gun and shot the victims. The victims fled from the area in a car and notified 911. Investigators are working on leads to identify the suspect.

WALDORF, Md. - Emergency crews responded Feb. 9 at 2:30 p.m., to the scene of a reported shooting near a daycare on St. Patricks Drive in the area of Crain Highway. Arriving units report that the scene is clear, however the shooter remains at large.  Crews proceeded to treat two male victims with gunshot wounds. One victim suffering a gunshot wound to the upper-leg and other, a graze wound to the hip. 

After investigating, authorities learned that the victims may have been shot on Cassidy Street and then traveled to the parking lot of the day care on St. Patrick's Drive where they remained until First Responders arrived.
