Dig it! An introduction to farming in Southern Maryland

HUGHESVILLE, Md. - The Southern Maryland Agricultural Development Commission is hosting a free evening workshop for those who are interested in becoming a farmer and setting up a new farm enterprise in Southern Maryland. The workshop will be held on Monday, February 26 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the SMECO Auditorium located at 15035 Burnt Store Road Hughesville, MD 20637.

This workshop is designed to give participants an inventory of the tools and must-have resources to begin their farming journey from the ground up, knowing what they can do, how to get started, and who to ask for help.

Hear from beginning farmers who have recently started their farm operations and representatives from various agricultural support and funding agencies who will be presenting at the workshop.
