Detectives arrest alleged child predator

ODENTON, Md. - On Feb. 6, a concerned parent notified the Anne Arundel County Police Department of a possible solicitation of a minor.  The mother stated she found her juvenile daughter had been communicating with an adult male, Leon Richard Harrison, 55 of Washington D.C., via the Facebook Messenger Application.  Detectives from the Anne Arundel County Child Abuse Unit began an investigation into Harrison,  communicating with the juvenile female.

During the investigation a detective working in a covert capacity assumed the identity of a juvenile female.  Harrison began communicating with who he believed was the juvenile female in which he solicited sexual acts in exchange for money.  On Wednesday, Feb. 7, Harrison arranged to meet the juvenile female.  At approximately 9:00 p.m., Harrison arrived on location at a fast food restaurant located in the 1100 block of Annapolis Road, Odenton.  Child Abuse Detectives were on location and took Harrison into custody without incident. Harrison was charged with sexual solicitation of a minor and prostitution. 

Detectives from the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Child Abuse Unit participate with the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
