Armed robbery suspect in police custody

 

UPDATE - The Calvert County Sheriff's Office advised, Feb. 19, that the suspect involved in recent armed robberies of Prince Frederick and Dunkirk businesses had been apprehended by the authorities. A full police statement is pending.

DUNKIRK, Md. - On Feb. 7, at 6:02 p.m., Calvert Deputies were dispatched to the Subway in Dunkirk, for a report of an armed robbery. 

Deputies responded within minutes, but the suspect had already fled.  The suspect was described as a black male, 20 to 25 years of age, between 5' 08" and 5' 10".  This case is believed to be related to the armed robbery of the Prince Frederick Shell station from a day earlier.

PRINCE FREDERICK, MD - On Feb. 6, at 9:34 p.m., Calvert County deputies were dispatched to the Shell gas station in Prince Frederick for a report of an armed robbery. 

Units were on the scene within seconds of the broadcast. However, the suspect had already fled the business.  The suspect is described as a black male wearing all black.  This case remains under investigation. 

Captain David Payne of the Calvert County Sheriff's Office confirmed the Shell station where the incident took place is on Dares Beach Road.
