Enjoy All the Flavors of Southern Maryland

Over the past two decades, the St. Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary has given countless hours and monetary donations for vital hospital improvements. This dynamic group of volunteers raises funds through many avenues, including, most recently, the sale of a new cookbook.
 
The cookbook includes a variety of recipes for delicious Southern Maryland goodies, contributed by people all over our community, as well as Auxiliary memories and photos and annotations throughout about many of the families of St. Mary’s County.
 
For just $12.50, you can buy your copy of the cookbook at the gift shop in the hospital’s main lobby. The gift shop is open seven days a week: weekdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 3 p.m. For more information, please call the Gift Shop at (301) 475-6153.
 
“This cookbook was dedicated to all our deceased Auxilians and contains many of their families’ old-time recipes,” said Kathy Frazier, Auxiliary secretary/treasurer and cookbook chairwoman. Frazier said more than 300 copies of the cookbook have been sold to date.

SOUTHERN MARYLAND POTATO SALAD                                            
7 potatoes
½ cup chopped celery
½ teaspoon dried chopped onions
Pinch of garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon Italian dressing
Paprika
 
Dressing:
1 cup mayonnaise
