Nanjemoy house fire under investigation

NANJEMOY, Md. - The Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating a house fire that caused an estimated $5,000 worth of damage during the early hours of Thursday, January 3 in Nanjemoy. 

At approximately 5:30 a.m., six firefighters from the Nanjemoy Volunteer Fire Department responded to the 2200 block of Port Tobacco Road, Nanjemoy for the report of a house fire. 

Upon arrival, the fire had already been extinguished. The area of origin was determined to be the front porch of the home. The cause is still under investigation.
