Forecasters calling for snow this weekend -- Here's how much

LEXINGTON PARK, Md. - Area forecasters are warning residents to prepare for a possible winter storm set to arrive in the afternoon into the evening of Saturday, Jan. 12 and continue into the morning of Sunday, Jan. 13.

According to reports from the the National Weather Service, most of Maryland will be affected by the storm with the Southern region expected to get three to six inches of snow. Current models are showing the high temperature through the weekend to reach 32°F with the low dipping to 27°F on Saturday and 17°F on Sunday. 

Road crews have been preparing roads with salt brine and readying equipment for snow removal. For residents who must travel on hazardous roads during or right after the storm, road authorities advise motorists to "Take it slow on ice and snow", noting that drivers will be safer following snow plows.
