Prince Frederick, MD - She was due December 27 but showed up five days later to become Calvert Health Medical Center’s (CHMC’s) first baby of 2018. Mia Nashoba-Osi Dilley arrived Jan. 1 at 2:22 p.m. at CHMC’s Center for Family Birth Care.

According to Mia’s father, Lane Dilley of St. Leonard, the baby weighed 7 pounds and 2.3 ounces and was 20 inches long when mom Alexis gave birth to her. Lane said the baby is named for Alexis’ sister and her middle name is Choctaw for “little wolf.” Alexis is part Choctaw.

Mia was extremely quiet as several flash pictures were taken while she was cradled in her mother’s arms. Alexis said she and Mia would be going home Wednesday, Jan. 3.

So far, Lane says his brand new daughter is “pretty quiet.”
