Bank robbery getaway driver to be sentenced

Leonardtown, MD- The driver of a bank robbery getaway vehicle is scheduled to be sentenced on Monday, Jan. 29. Regina Rochelle Jackson, 49 of Washington, DC, was arrested in July of 2016 for the robbery at the PNC Bank in Charlotte Hall.

On Sept. 27, 2017, Jackson pleaded guilty to after access statute—which is a felony.
Investigators say Jackson was the getaway driver for her boyfriend, Troy Tyrone Wertz. He pleaded guilty to the crime May of 2016 and sentenced to 15 years in prison.

On Oct. 15, 2015, Wertz entered the PNC Bank, demanded money and was given an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the scene.  No one was injured during the robbery.
