From MD State GOP Chair, Diana Waterman
Diana sends best wishes for the New Year from the MD Republican Party, and summarizes the many great victories the Party achieved in 2014: our Republican congressman, a new Republican governor and lieutenant governor, 14 Republican state senators, 50 Republican delegates and a huge increase in the number of locally-elected Republicans.

In the coming year, the emphasis will be on municipal elections to elect Republicans in non-Partisan races, continuing to build the GOP base for the future.
Looking ahead to 2016 and to 2018: the MD GOP is now training candidates, volunteers, and is building precinct organizations and registering more Republicans. United we can win! We have shown that we can elect Republicans in Maryland.

St. Mary’s County Republican Central Committee elects new officers
On Nov. 18, newly-elected SMC RCC members met for the first time to take the oath of office and to elect the central committee officers. As the out-going chair, Mary Burke-Russell was honored to nominate Julie Burk-Greer as SMC RCC chair. Also elected were: David Willenborg as vice-chair; Jodi Stanalonis as recording secretary, and John Johnson as treasurer. Congratulations! Mary remains as a member of the SMC RCC.

SMC RCC Chair Julie Burk-Greer proudly announced that current SMC RCC member and immediate past Chair Mary Burke-Russell was named as first vice-chair of the MD GOP at the MD GOP Fall Convention held at the Turf Valley Resort in Ellicott City last month.
Delegate-elect Deb Rey delivered Mary’s nomination speech with former Calvert County Chair Frank McCabe giving the speech to second the nomination. Mary beat out former First Vice-Chair Collins Bailey of Charles County, with Collins graciously conceding and asking his supporters to join him in working with Mary.
