Maryland State Police TFC McCombs on Wednesday evening stopped a 2003 Honda Accord on U.S. 301 at Acton Lane in Waldorf for a traffic violation. The driver was identified as David Lee Miller, 36, of Upper Marlboro. While conversing with the driver, several indicators of criminal activity were observed which lead to a K-9 Scan on the vehicle.  A positive alert was given by the K-9 for the presence of controlled dangerous substances.

A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted which revealed a quantity of suspected marihuana.  Troopers noticed that rear seat of the vehicle was not fully secure and when lifted, a fully loaded Desert Eagle nine millimeter pistol was recovered. A wanted check of the serial number was conducted which revealed the pistol was reported stolen through the Prince George’s County Police Department in 2010. 

A search of Miller’s person revealed a large amount of U.S. Currency which was seized as well as additional suspected marihuana. 

Miller was arrested and charged with: Possession of a Stolen Regulated Firearm by prohibited person; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Possession w/intent to use Drug Paraphernalia; Possession of a Firearm in a vehicle and Possession of Marijuana.    

Miller was taken to Charles County District Court Commissioner for a hearing.
