The Kimberly Ann Stone Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, July 11, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Chesapeake Hills Golf Club, 11352  H.G. Trueman Road in Lusby.   Stone, who died of cancer in December 2007, began and ended her career at Huntingtown Elementary School,

 Stone
which she attended as a child. Her co-workers created the Kimberly Ann Stone Memorial Scholarship Fund and its premier fundraising golf tournament in January 2008.

The foundation’s goal is to award four $1,000 scholarships to students from Calvert County’s four high schools.   Recipients are to be graduating seniors or high school graduates currently matriculated at a college.

Stone’s educational career was rooted in her love for children. She was known for striving to make a difference in the lives of children and their families and for her selfless, passionate devotion to her students. The memorial fund was created to celebrate her life, her accomplishments, her character and her excellence as a teacher. Stone was a life-long resident of Calvert County.

To register and for information about the golf tournament, call (410) 535-7212 or visit http://www.calvertnet.k12.md.us/flyers/documents/KimStoneMemorialGolfTourn.pdf
The cost for golfers is $100 each and includes a golf cart, course beverages, fees, lunch and silent auction. For non-golfers the cost is $10. The cost for children under 12 is $ 5. Non-golfers are invited to arrive at 2 p.m. for a late lunch and silent auction. Billy Connolly will provide activities for children at 2:30 p.m.

All proceeds from the golf tournament will go to the Kimberly Ann Stone Memorial Scholarship Fund.
