DC Generals Wrap Up Second Successful Season
WALDORF - 6/18/2008
|
After five grueling, hotly contested games, the DC Generals finished their second full season at North Point High School. The May 22 game ended with the DC Generals finishing 3-2, losing a heartbreaker to the Philadelphia Blue Flame, 7 to 6. The semi-pro football team is comprised primarily of Washington DC metropolitan area fire fighters, police officers and other public safety employees. In 2009, the DC Generals team will be entering into its third third season as a member of the National Public Safety Football League (NPSFL). The team’s continuing goal is to organize and field a competitive public safety football team, dedicated to fundraising for two main charities – the Washington DC Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors (DC-COPS) and the Washington Hospital Center Foundation Burn Unit. The off-the-field goal is to raise funds and public awareness of the important missions of these charities. Visit the web sites of these organizations at www.dc-cops.org and www.whcenter.org to learn more. |
