Cat burglar robs sub shop

On May 27 at 10:08 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the Subway located on Smallwood Drive West in Waldorf for the report of a theft.

Investigation revealed a suspect stayed in the store after it closed, crawled along the floor to the rear of the store and stole an undisclosed amount of money from the safe and cash register drawer. The suspect fled the store on foot through the front door at approximately 11:09 p.m.

The suspect is described as white and was wearing all black clothing, a camouflage hat, white gloves and a black face mask. The suspect also had a flashlight secured to his or her head.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Det. J. Austin at 301-609-6504 or Charles County Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS. Crime Solvers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest or indictment of the suspect. All callers remain anonymous.
