Lighthouse Groundbreaking Takes Place Amid Thousands of Black-Eyed Susans

State and County officials have all been invited to participate and the public is also invited to attend. There will be FREE boat transportation to the island from the pier at the St. Clement's Island Museum in Colton's Point. The museum is also offering its annual Black-Eyed Susan Day beginning at 11 a.m. with free water taxi transportation to the island to view the 4,000 plus Black-Eyed Susan plants in full bloom as they surround the 40-foot cross that commemorates the arrival of Maryland's first citizens in 1634. The St. Clement's Hundred is a non-profit organization whose mission is the physical and cultural preservation and enhancement of St. Clement's Island, Birthplace of Maryland.
