On Tuesday night, September 29 the Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) will be closing MD 4 northbound on the Thomas Johnson Bridge for maintenance work on the northbound bridge parapet (wall).

Work will take place between 9 p.m. Tuesday night and 5 a.m. Wednesday.  If necessary, crews will work the same hours Wednesday night into Thursday morning to complete the work.

During work hours, the Thomas Johnson Bridge will be reduced to one lane.  A flagging operation will be in place to regulate use of the single lane by both north and southbound traffic.

SHA thanks motorists for their patience and reminds them to use caution when driving through the work zone.
