On August 16, Bureau of Criminal Investigation detectives looking into the rape of a 19-year-old female, which occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m., arrested Jeremiah D. Hobbs, 21 years of age, from Lexington Park.
Detectives determined that the victim was at Hobbs’ residence with friends consuming alcohol. When she fell asleep, the suspect began to have sexual intercourse with her. The victim awoke and fled from the residence to summon help.
Hobbs was charged with Second Degree Rape and Second Degree Assault. He was incarcerated at the St. Mary’s County Detention Center.

What a creep. I am assuming that the picture is his "arrest" photo. Is it just me or does he look like he's almost smiling? Almost as if his attitude were "What's the big deal?" Well young man..... I have news for you. It's a VERY big deal, one that will follow you for the rest of your life. And if found guilty, rightly so.
And if I may say, this was a VERY hard lesson for the young lady about just one of the many effects of under age drinking.

Oh , I didn't know this was only a problem with people who drink underage . I mean , something like this would never happen to someone who was legally drinking ... (sarcasm intended) .
This is the type of sh** that alcohol causes , whether you're underage or not . Go to the county jail and you'll find that the majority of the people are drunk when they first arrive , and they're all adults legally able to drink .
These problems seem to revolve around alcohol use , underage or not .
WTF is up with you? Although it happens, this story IS NOT about a legal aged woman being raped. It is about an UNDERAGED girl drinking and being raped.

Seriously??? Yeah, it was a bad position to be in, drinking and passed out but oh my god, it is no excuse for him to do it. Nothing worse than waking up to that, I am sure. Unbelievable. My heart goes out to her. It is a very emotional thing to go through. She didn't deserve it and he deserves all that he gets coming to him. And...who didn't drink at 19 and make mistakes???? You guys make it sound like its her fault!

Her physical injuries will heal LONG before her emotional ones. Trust me on this one.

If she did that the same thing would happen to her as happened to Elaine Bobbit. Hopefully he will end up in the State Pen so he can find out what it feels like to be on the receiving end of rape. Drinking to the pass-out stage is never good whether overage or underage. The problem with underage drinking is the unfamiliarity of the young drinkers with the impact of alcohol on their brains and their bodies. They end up drinking too much because of the delayed reaction to the consumed alcohol.
if i didnt know Jeremy, I would probably agree with most of what you are saying.But,I do know him.I know him to be an honest and hard working young man who is being ripped to shreds in the media and on line.Granted,what happened was unfortunate and avoidable,but something did happen and in the near future the courts will tell the whole truth.RIGHT NOW ONLY ONE SIDE IS BEING TOLD AND WHEN FOUND TO BE NOT ENTIRLY TRUE,I HOPE THAT SOME OF YOU WILL NOT BE SO QUICK IN THE FUTURE TO PASS JUDGEMENT ON SOMEONE ELSE BEFORE THE FACTS COME OUT
You fail to realize that both sides of this story are not being completly told. Legally they can only state so much. I have met both the victim and the defendant. There is a huge difference between your statement of something being "not entirely true" and one of that is not legally allowed to be told. Certian evidence is required to be kept to only those who are investigating it... especially in a small town area where in our free time we have people on gossip pages such as these slandering others names into the ground. What if it was your name? I sure as heck wouldnt want my business in a matter like this online. but what do you expect... its St Marys County. *smh*
