Sleeping Teen Raped: Male Suspect Arrested

On August 16, Bureau of Criminal Investigation detectives looking into the rape of a 19-year-old female, which occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m., arrested Jeremiah D. Hobbs, 21 years of age, from Lexington Park.

Detectives determined that the victim was at Hobbs’ residence with friends consuming alcohol. When she fell asleep, the suspect began to have sexual intercourse with her. The victim awoke and fled from the residence to summon help.
Hobbs was charged with Second Degree Rape and Second Degree Assault. He was incarcerated at the St. Mary’s County Detention Center.
