Coming to St. Mary’s Elk Lodge 2092 on Saturday, July 18 in an effort to help raise funds for the Wounded Warrior Project are two Comics on Duty comedians – Tom Foss and Keith Alberstadt who will open the show on that night.

According to Foss in a recent conversation with TheBAYNET.com, “I live my life by the rules of free speech and feel it is the least we can do to entertain those who fight and who have sacrificed all to protect those freedoms.”

Foss explained that between Keith Alberstadt and him, there will be about 10 tours of Iraq and Afghanistan and about 500 home and abroad shows in support of the armed forces in the coming year.

For service members on duty in combat zones throughout the world, laughter often is the very best medicine. Comics on Duty members like Foss and Alberstadt entertain the troops around the world in combat zones to bring smiles and a few hours of respite from battle.

When asked about the Wounded Warrior Project, Foss said simply, “There is never enough we can do for those who have been wounded protecting our freedoms.”

Foss and other Comics on Duty comedians frequently tour combat hospitals in an effort to help cheer up wounded veterans. “When you first think about visiting the wounded soldiers you wonder, ‘How can I do that?’ but when you go and talk with these brave men and women it comes natural.”

Foss went on to say that most of the wounded go through more than they can ever say, but most just want the opportunity to tell their story and to be heard.

As part of Comic's On Duty in 2005-2008, Tom Foss traveled around the world nine times and was on top of it once! Entertaining our troops in Iraq four times, Afghanistan three times, Kuwait five times, Italy, Spain, England, Greece, Belgium, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, Africa, USS Enterprise, USS Boxer, USS Winston Churchill, USS Harry Truman, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Saudi Arabia, Greenland, Hawaii and all across The United States.

While entertaining the troops overseas, Foss has managed to keep a foot back here in the states as a regular at the Improv's and Funny Bones. He can also be heard regularly on XM Radio, Sirius Radio and The Bob and Tom Show. He also just finished appearances with David Letterman and Jimmy Fallon.

High-energy, rapid-fire comedy is what you'll see at his show. Foss has been described as a cross between Robin Williams and Mitch Hedburg. He is also said to have one of the highest 'Laughs per Minute' rates in the business.  2008 marked the twentieth year of comedy for Foss.

The dinner will start at 6 p.m. and the laughs begin at 7:30 p.m., for this one-night of food and fun. Tickets are only $30 for a great dinner and the show or $20 for the show only.
