Man Injured on Motorcycle When Colliding with Truck

On Friday, May 8 at approximately 5:24 p. m., a man driving a 150cc Honda motorcycle in the area of 22791 Three Notch Road and the intersection of Gunston Drive, in California while traveling north collided with a truck. The male victim was wearing a helmet and was treated by responding units from Bay District, Lexington Park and Hollywood.

After being treated on the scene, the male victim was transported to St. Mary's Hospital by ambulance. NO further details are available at this time.

Chaps my a**!
This kind of stuff really chaps my a**. An unlicensed, uninsured vehicle, on a public street/road and then causes or is involved in an accident. Granted, I hope the rider is ok, but hopefully he also learned a lesson; keep the bike where it belongs - off public roads!

Hey there fly navy, where in this article did it say the rider was unlicensed and uninsured? You should not read into the story when the facts are not even part of the story. I do have another question for you. Since you stated "Keep the bike where it belongs - off public roads!" Does this mean all bikes? I am a licensed motorcycle rider, been thru the safety course, my bike is street legal, is properly licensed and insured.

Not born here did say it correct. The bike involved is not street legal, i.e. no head light, tail light, turn signals and the tires on the bike where not made for the street.

Reading into the story, huh? By not having a tail light, license plate, etc., much like NBH mentioned, one can see that it is unlicensed (no tag) and therefore uninsured(in term of car/motorcycle insurance). Power to you to ride a LEGAL bike on public roads, but keep the four wheelers and dirt bikes where they belong - off the main roads.

My prayers go out to the rider. I hope he will be OK.

Riders need to remember they can't be seen as easily as cars/trucks.

Driver should look for motorcycles always. If you can see the bike, then no way will you miss the car/truck you were going to pull out in front of.

And that bike doesn't look legal for the street - no headlights/tail lights/rear view mirrors (the law says you need two of those). Not to mention those tires are designed to grip dirt, not asphalt. Everybody is safer if the dirt bikes stay off the pavement, and the rider usually loses in a bike/vehicle collision.

Idiot
The dumb idiot was driving a dirt bike on the street and he hit a truck. I feel sorry for the driver of the truck. I sure hope that the guy on the dirt bike is held responsible for the damages to the truck and I sure hope that he has to pay his own medical bills and not the truck drivers insurance company.
People have to take responsibility for the stupid choices that they make, so don't defend the dirt bike rider, he was clearly in the wrong.

Victim?
Don't you mean Perpetrator...or Criminal? After all, it is not legal to operate an off-road motorcycle on public roads in the state of MD. The 'Victim' here is the operator of the pickup. Unfortunately HIS uninsured motorist insurance is probably going to have to cover this incident…unless an honest and fair judge orders the perpetrator to pay restitution to the victim? There is a novel idea.
