Violent Child Sex Offender Brought Down by BCI

ST. MARY'S COUNTY - 4/7/2009

On April 4, detectives from the St. Mary's Bureau of Criminal Investigations arrested Vincent Ralph Tayman, 62 of La Plata, and charged him with Child Abuse and 2nd and 3rd Degree Sex offenses. 

The arrest was the result of a BCI investigation into the sexual molestation of a juvenile in his care and custody over a period of three years when the female victim was between the ages of 7 and 10.  The crime occurred when Tayman resided in Mechanicsville. 

Tayman was incarcerated in the St. Mary’s County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond.

i cant believe you people. you all judge before you even know the real story or the truth. the media exaggerates everything these days. "violent child sex offender" bs thats what it really is. i bet you people dont even know this man. hes my frikin uncle. whats happening is killing my family. you people judge wayyyyy to fast. seeing these comments honestly hurts. he never did anything wrong. we know it. show some sympathy and respect to the family...

What a scumbag. I hope Bubba does to Tayman exactly what he did to that poor girl. It is hard to imagine that low-life trash lives a door away sometimes and you don't even know it. Homer said it best... coward.

Absolutely appalling
I agree with you that this man is certainly a coward! First harming innocent children and now he can't even face what he has done and look at the camera. Child sex offenders and people who harm defensless cats and dogs are the most sick and disgusting people alive. There should have been NO bail allowed. Let him rot for the rest of his life. That child has to suffer, HE SHOULD TOO.

How do any of you know if this man is guilty!!! You all believe exactly what you read, how immature. And maybe the reason he didnt look into the camera is because he is innocent and he is imbarassed for his family and friends. So why dont yall all sit there and hold back your key board courage for another day when it says he was found guilty by a jury of his peers.

All I said was keep your comments to your self until he is proven guilty and then everyone jumps on me. Im not trying to say he is innocent by all means if he is guilty then yes he is everything yall are saying and they should lock him up. But I think that most of your are quick to judge.. considering Iam being called an sob that should join him??? All because I said maybe MAYBE MAYBE he isnt guilty. Most people on here aren't brave enough to do what they type so it is in my opinion, they should just stay quiet and seem smarter than what they really are.

He is guilty
As someone with first hand knowledge of the situation, I can tell you that he admitted guilt. I do hope that he does spend the rest of his life behind bars. Maybe if all child molesters received more time, there would be less child abuse going on. They should all be tortured, the way they gave the torture. It is so disgusting. This little girl(his grand daughter)is not the only one this happened to. He got away with it before, but everything done in the dark will come to light some time or another. I am glad it was before he died. Alot of free people in this world arent guarenteed 3 meals and a bed. Prisons in this country are a JOKE but at least where he is there are not any children for him to molest.

wow for someone who knows ther real story you didnt quite tell it all now did you....im his niece and let me tell you one thing...everyone on here needs to mind their own damn business...the family knows what really is going on here and that is all that matters...you all have taken the title of this article and ran with it ...and as for those that have made bad wishes towards my uncle you can go bleep yourselves!!!! he has NEVER hurt anyone in our family and NEVER WOULD!!! unless you are in our family and directly involved in the situation mind your own damn business!!! looks like to me some of you need a life of your own.

What are you folks thinking? In this USA, we are innocent until proven guilty. Let our system work here and let this man have his time to tell his side of the story. There can be many confusing issues, many may not be told in a simple article that has gotten many of you to show hate. May God help everyone who may be involved in this. I pray that this is not an internal hate situation or get even situation. We must wait to see.

To all who are concerned about this sick individual lets be very clear here. I have investigated Vincent Tayman and his family to be intitled to give accurate detail to his and his family's sick behaviors. Lets be clear the family's case file is of public record and if one can read can see the lies and cover up throughout him raising 2daughters of his own. His oldest child has on several occasion pleaded to the court to save her child and may I add here she is a character as well. The Granddaughter has come forth so he does not continue to molest since he has done this raising his own daughters. The Grandchilds father is incarcerated and well before now going back to 2000 he has written several letters to the court pleading for his daughters safety. In explicit detail during his letters discribed the abuse as she just recently describes to a perfect match. So that tells me Vincent taymans wife aided in the abuse as well as Sandra and Shelia. TO the niece and cousin that have written in it is because of you people who carry the family secret and never come forward abuse still continues because you choose to look away. I will make sure everyone that let this abuse carry on all these years end up behind bars for aiding and abetting.
