UPDATE 3:45 p.m.

The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision which occurred on March 23, at approximately 8:45 a.m., on Three Notch Road just north of Clover Hill Road in Hollywood. 

Preliminary investigation reveals vehicle # 1, 2006 Honda, Civic driven by Lindsey Rudolph, 29 of Lexington Park, was traveling northbound on Three Notch Road.  Vehicle #2, a 2005 Ford, E350 driven by Donald Matlock, 29 of Mechanicsville, was traveling southbound Three Notch Road.  The driver of vehicle #1 veered across the center median into the southbound traffic of Three Notch Road.  Vehicle #1 struck Vehicle #2.  The driver of vehicle #1 was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver of vehicle #2 was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital by ambulance. 

The Sheriff's Office Collision Reconstruction Team responded and is continuing the investigation.  Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Corporal Doug Mills at (301) 475-4200 ext. 1984.

UPDATE 12 p.m.

Route 235 has been reopened in both directions as of 12 p.m.

This accident remains under investigation.

UPDATE 9:15 a.m.
Both north and southbound Route 235 has been shut down at South Sandgates Road due to accident reconstruction. All traffic is being detoured onto North and South Sandgates Road.

One person has died as a result of this collision.

According to witnesses at the scene, one drivers told TBN, the driver of the passenger vehicle appeared to have lost control while changing lanes, crossed the median and went into the southbound lanes sideways and was struck on the passengers side by Cliff's Heating and A/C vehicle.
 
The driver of the Cliff's Heating and A/C vehicle was transported to St. Mary's Hospital.

Authorities are on the scene of a serious accident on Southbound Three Notch Road at South Sandgates Road in Oakville. The accident happened around 8:45 a.m. on Monday, March 23.

Two vehicles are involved including a silver Honda Civic and a Ford E-350 work van. One person is reported to be unconscious.

Southbound 235 remains closed at this time.
