At approximately 2 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 27 at 18601 Point Lookout Road in Park Hall, Maryland State Police, Deputies from St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office and units from Lexington Park and Bay District Fire and Rescue were called to the site of single car accident. When they arrived units discovered an Acura had run into a tree. Nearby, an apparent victim was found by the fire chief on the scene walking along Hermanville Road.

When questioned, the owner of the Acura stated that he was not driving the car in question, but that a “guy named, Alex” was at the controls. He stated that “they had just left the bar and he let his friend Alex drive.”

Police, fire, and rescue workers searched the area for “Alex” but no one turned up. The owner appeared to be under the influence. It is unknown at this time what charges have been filed. The crash victim signed a refusal for transport.

More on this case as it is released by authorities.
