Shoppers Beware: A 6th Bomb Threat for Wal-Mart

On Feb.19, at approximately 11 a.m., the Wal-Mart store, located at 45485 Miramar Way, California, received a bomb threat by telephone.  This was the sixth bomb threat received by the Wal-Mart store within two weeks.  Patrol units from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office and the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack responded and the store was evacuated and searched.

After finding no suspicious items, the store was reopened. The incident is currently being investigated by St. Mary’s County BCI detectives.

UPDATE: Feb. 19 at 12 p.m.

According to Wal-Mart employees on the scene, a Wal-Mart employee's boyfriend was being questioned this morning by authorities as a suspect, and belive he was in questioning when the latest bomb threat was called in. Wal-Mart employees also say the same male caller is believed to be making each threat.

Authorities continue to investigate.


Authorities are responding to the sixth Bomb Threat at the Wal-Mart in California in eight days. The store is being evacuated as of 11 a.m. on Feb. 19.
