The Charles County Sheriff’s Office has arrested William Curtis Rouse, 22 of Waldorf, charging him with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting of Timothy Scott Bryant, 30, who was shot inside his home last week on Fennel Place in La Plata.

Rouse was one of four suspects wanted in connection with the homicide. Two other suspects, Andrew Redfield and Vigil Curvey, were arrested on Feb.12; a third suspect, Antoine Dwayne Smith, 24 of Fort Washington, remains at large. A warrant is on file charging him with first-degree murder.

On Friday, Feb.13, members of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Squad and US Marshals Office Task Force located Rouse walking near his residence in the 6000 block of Whistlers Court in Waldorf. As officers approached to arrest him, Rouse fled. He was found a short distance away hiding under a trailer. Rouse was charged with first-degree murder and remanded to the Charles County Detention Center with no bond.

Details of the homicide are as follows:
On Feb. 10 at approximately 4:26 a.m., the victim and five other adults were playing video games in the victim’s apartment when the suspects forced entry into the residence. The suspects produced a gun, forced everyone to lie on the ground, and demanded money. One of the suspects shot the victim and the suspects fled. None of the witnesses was injured. Detectives say the suspects targeted the victim after learning he kept cash and drugs inside his residence.

Charles County Crime Solvers is offering a cash reward for information leading to the whereabouts of Smith. He is a black male, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds.   Anyone with information is asked to call the Charles County Sheriffs Office, Major Crimes Unit at (301) 609-6513. Callers wishing to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS.
