Man Falls to His Death at Mechanicsville Moose Lodge

On Feb. 12 at approximately 8:30 p.m., sheriff’s deputies responded to the Moose Lodge on Mechanicsville Road in Mechanicsville, for a person found outside the establishment unresponsive.

The victim, Alfred Lee Hoffman, 57 of Mechanicsville, was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital by Mechanicsville Rescue Squad where he was pronounced dead.

St. Mary’s County BCI detectives are investigating the incident and preliminary indications are that Hoffman died from a head injury due to a fall.

Can you please wait to see what happened before you jump to conclusions? I'm sure that his family is going through a very rough time right now.

Your comment wasn't funny, it was disturbing.
I know sarcasm runs rampant here...but this is someone's husband, brother, friend. Show some respect.

Do u even consider the family and friends of this man reading this! Show some respect. I like how you assumed that he died because he was drunk when u dont even know the whole story. Just because he was there doesnt mean he was drunk and fell. WHY dont you wait until more details are released on the story before you jump to conclusions.

Whoever left this comment... you need to grow up and show some respect.. our family is grieving a respectable man who liked to have a good time just like everyone else... he was beloved father and boyfriend and you should show the family some respect for his son and fiance he left behind... you obviously are an uneducated person who needs to grow up you would not be even worth my time if i did not care for this family and his son. I dnt even kno how you could sleep with urself at night if you knew the circumstances you worthless piece of dirt.

I have been to our local moose lodge and people really dont go there to drink. It is more of a social thing and the people there are all very very nice. I feel so sorry for his friends and family =[

Wrong about being drunk
The guy fell over a parking curb on his way INto the lodge. It was all captured on survilence video. Just unlucky, is all.

The Title makes it sounds as though this guy was on the roof when he fell. "Man falls to his death" I wish these so called journalists would stop trying to impress and just write the story.
