Inaugural Visitors Invade Washington in Anticipation the Historic Day
WASHINGTON, D.C. - 1/20/2009
By Pete Hurrey and Tenley Martin
|
On Jan. 19, Washington began the process of bracing for the influx of people coming to see the United States’ forty-fourth president being sworn into office and the dawn of a new era in American politics. Visitors traveled by car, by bus, train and airplane, descending on the Nation’s Capital in numbers unheard of in modern times. TBN’s Tenley Martin was there to capture some of the moments from Monday. Today, Tuesday, Jan. 20, Martin arose at 3 a.m. and began her trek toward the mall and the historic swearing ceremony set for noon. She will be reporting on the scene and the event as it unfolds throughout the day. Here are some pictures from yesterday as witnessed by Martin. |
